Chinese Knot
Make something to keep.
Make decorative knots, cord combinations, a five-coin hanging ornament and layered flower knots with complete videos, English subtitles and illustrated checkpoints.
Twenty video demonstrations, from individual ornamental knots to layered combinations and hanging pieces. Choose a shape that catches your eye, check the materials, then follow the full video at your own pace.
Each lesson has English subtitles, slower playback and images that take you back to the corresponding movement.

Hand-Tied Small Chinese Knot
小中国结
Tie a button knot beneath a hanging loop, then use your fingers to hold the open crossings for a small woven knot. The demonstration continues through tightening the centre and balancing the side loops.

Two-Return Pan Chang Knot
二回盘长结
Lay out the two routes of a small Pan Chang knot on a pin board. The pink and yellow demonstration makes the returning strands easy to follow, then shows the full process of closing the woven centre and setting the outer loops.
Watch & make

Qing Knot
磬结
Build a stepped woven face with a longer lower section on the pin board. The grey and gold routes remain open for inspection before the knot is lifted, tightened and dressed into its cornered outline.
Watch & make

Triangular Bao Knot
三角形宝结
Arrange six repeated folds on a pin board, then work the remaining routes through them to build a triangular Bao knot. The long closing stage shows how the loose fan of loops becomes a compact triangular face.
Watch & make

Hollow Tuan Jin Knot
八耳空心团锦结
Tie an eight-loop Tuan Jin knot with an open centre. Keep the circular route loose on the board, then use the bead shown in the demonstration as a temporary spacer while reducing and balancing the outer loops.
Watch & make

Tuan Jin Edging
团锦滚边
Add a contrasting cord to prepared Tuan Jin knots and compare upper, inner and lower edging. The demonstration starts with loose six-loop solid-centre bases for upper and inner edging, then adds lower edging to a tightened base.
Watch & make

Sash Knot
御守结 / 绶带结
Make a compact Sash knot with two rounded side loops. The first sequence uses one colour; the second keeps black and white routes distinct and shows the longer loop and complete dressing process.
Watch & make

Pipa Knot Flower
琵琶结的应用(组合结)
Study how prepared Pipa knots and a loose two-return Pan Chang centre become a flower-like combination. This short demonstration explains the arrangement and shows its adjustment and finished form; make the component knots in the practice lessons first. Some closing and decorative edging work is shown only in the finished example.
Watch & make

Linear Pan Chang Knot
一字盘长结
Extend the Pan Chang layout into a narrow knotted band. The ten repeated folds are quick to pin, while the longer dressing stage shows how to pass excess cord along the full length without bunching the band.
Watch & make

Rhombus and Tuan Jin Combination
回菱盘长与八耳空心团锦(组合结)
Weave an open Pan Chang frame, then add a white eight-loop hollow Tuan Jin inside it. The two structures stay loose together until the inner ring is closed and the frame is dressed around it.
Watch & make

Tong Xin Knot
同心结
Weave a Pan Chang face, add the small clover detail below it, then turn the longer outer loops into a heart outline. Close-up passages show the lark's-head attachments that hold the shaped loops.
Watch & make

Wan Zi Knot
万字结(总角结)
Arrange three large loops around a compact Wan Zi centre. Keep the cord doubled and loose while placing the return, then dress the centre and balance the standing and side loops.
Watch & make

Cao Hua Knot
草花结
Use a radial pin layout and a temporary bead spacer to make an open-centred Cao Hua knot. Work the loose circular crossings first, then lift the structure and balance its long ears and smaller turns around the opening.
Watch & make

Five-Coin Hanging Ornament
中国结五帝钱挂件
Make a hanging ornament from a woven Pan Chang header, a gourd-shaped bead, five linked coins and a handmade capped tassel. The source demonstrates the header and connections, then continues through wrapping, binding and trimming the tassel.
Watch & make

Layered Chrysanthemum Knot
八重菊结
Build the layered crossings of a chrysanthemum-shaped knot on a radial guide. The source turns the working folds through half-turns, then closes and dresses the layers into long petals with smaller turns near the centre.
Watch & make

Zao Jing Knot
藻井结
Place two coloured routes around an open upright fold, then close them into a compact Zao Jing centre. The source also shows a longer grey variant and finished applications after the main knot is dressed.
Watch & make

Pan Chang Butterfly Knot
盘长蝴蝶结
Combine a two-return Pan Chang centre with double-coin wings. Keep the wing passages loose while weaving the centre, then dress the lattice and balance the upper and lower curves of the butterfly.
Watch & make

Xiu Qiu Knot
绣球结
Join five clover units into a flat open network. The source keeps the neighbouring ears linked on the board, then dresses the connecting loops; a short second part compares the result made with flat cord.
Watch & make

Fa Lun Wheel Knot
法轮结
Build a wheel-shaped network around a small Pan Chang hub. The outer units stay open while the hub is woven; the closing sequence then draws the linked ears into a radial ring. Part of that source sequence is shown at 13 times normal speed.
Watch & make

Eight-Loop Star Knot
星辰结(八耳)
Build the eight-loop star route on a pin board, using the numbered diagram to track its crossings. After completing the loose route, release the pins and follow the cord around the centre to balance all eight outer loops.
