Learn Chinese knotting

Chinese knot tutorials, one knot at a time.

Practice 18 basic Chinese knots, then explore 20 decorative knot projects with on-page videos, English subtitles and illustrated checkpoints.

A simple way to begin Chinese knotting

  1. Prepare a practice cord. Read the cord and tools guide, leave generous ends and keep the first crossings loose.
  2. Practice an open form. Start with the double coin knot and compare its crossings before tightening.
  3. Repeat a small unit. Try the snake knot, then use the bracelet guide to plan a wearable practice project.
  4. Shape a button or a flower. Learn the Chinese button knot or a three-loop Chinese lucky knot, using the video to check both the route and the final dressing.

This is an optional practice sequence. The 18 lessons below keep their original course order.
