Add a contrasting cord to prepared Tuan Jin knots and compare upper, inner and lower edging. The demonstration starts with loose six-loop solid-centre bases for upper and inner edging, then adds lower edging to a tightened base.
What you will need
- Prepared six-loop solid-centre Tuan Jin bases; leave the first two loose on the board.
- Contrasting knotting cord for the edging; red is shown on gold bases.
- A pinnable radial board, pins, a pointed tool and small pliers.
- A cord-threading needle or a firm prepared cord tip for working through the tightened base.
Record what works for your cord
Write down its type, diameter and starting length, then the size after tightening. The printed result helps you compare the outline; it does not set the physical scale or show the hidden route. Follow the demonstration for threading and gradual tightening.
