What you will need

  • Red knotting cord for the header and coin connections.
  • Five Chinese-style coins with central holes.
  • A drilled gourd-shaped bead or the shown matching ornament bead.
  • Fine tassel thread and contrasting binding thread; red and gold are shown.
  • A gridded pin board, pins, pointed tool and small pliers.
  • A firm book or card for winding the tassel, a small stick, threading needle and scissors.
