Use a radial pin layout and a temporary bead spacer to make an open-centred Cao Hua knot. Work the loose circular crossings first, then lift the structure and balance its long ears and smaller turns around the opening.
What you will need
- One flexible knotting cord; orange is shown.
- A radial pin board and pins.
- A pointed tool and small pliers.
- An 8 mm bead used as a temporary central spacer; the source uses a blue bead.
Record what works for your cord
Write down its type, diameter and starting length, then the size after tightening. The printed result helps you compare the outline; it does not set the physical scale or show the hidden route. Follow the demonstration for threading and gradual tightening.
The editable SVG is a silhouette extracted from the filmed finished piece. Use it for a greeting or color plan, and compare the real photograph whenever you need the exact cord detail.
